DMA Names Greco President, CEO

BOSTON The Direct Marketing Association has named John Greco Jr. to be its next president and chief executive officer, the DMA said.

Greco will take over on Aug. 16; he succeeds H. Robert Wientzen, who had previously announced his retirement. Wientzen was president for eight years.

“Today is an exciting and promise-filled day for the DMA, its members and our industry,” said Rebecca Jewett, vice chairman of Norm Thompson Outfitters and chairman of the DMA. “John is uniquely qualified to assume the mantle of leadership at the DMA. His marketing, technological and corporate as well as association management backgrounds made him the unanimous choice of the executive search committee. In addition, we were impressed with his superb leadership capabilities.”

Most recently, Greco was co-founder of Greco Enterprises in Watchung, N.J. During his nearly 30-year career, he has worked at the Yellow Pages Research Institute, R.R. Donnelley & Sons and AT&T.

“I believe that my background in marketing, technology and association management provide me unique perspectives to help adapt the DMA to meet the demands of today’s highly competitive and rapidly changing marketplace,” said Greco.
