Disney Media Review Down to Three

LOS ANGELES–The Walt Disney Co. has cut the list of contenders for its estimated $500 million-plus media buying account to three, according to sources.

Moving on are incumbents Initiative Media North America, an IPG shop based in Los Angeles; Bcom3’s Starcom, Chicago; and Zenith Media, New York, jointly owned by Publicis and Cordiant Communications. The next step in the review is expected to be a project assignment, with meetings to be scheduled next month. Cut from the initial list of contenders were TBWA\Chiat\Day, Playa del Rey, Calif., in partnership with Omnicom sister Creative Media, New York; and WPP media network The Media Edge.
