LOS ANGELES–The Walt Disney Co. has cut the list of contenders for its estimated $500 million-plus media buying account to three, according to sources.

Moving on are incumbents Initiative Media North America, an IPG shop based in Los Angeles; Bcom3’s Starcom, Chicago; and Zenith Media, New York, jointly owned by Publicis and Cordiant Communications. The next step in the review is expected to be a project assignment, with meetings to be scheduled next month. Cut from the initial list of contenders were TBWA\Chiat\Day, Playa del Rey, Calif.,
