DeMane Davis and Khari Streeter are on hiatus from their Boston advertising firm, Two Potato, as they develop their second independent film.
The pair are in the midst of shooting Lift, the story of a former shoplifter trying to persuade his girlfriend to stop stealing. Written by Davis and directed by Streeter, the film stars Eugene Byrd; HartSharp Productions’ John Hart and Jeff Sharp, whose previous credits include the acclaimed Boys Don’t Cry, are producing.
Davis and Streeter previously collaborated on the script for the 1996 independent film Black and White and Red All Over, a tale of African American friends who come apart as a result of black-on-black violence.
