Digitas Names Tannenbaum ECD

BOSTON Digitas said it has named George Tannenbaum executive creative director of its headquarters office here.

Tannenbaum, 47, arrived at Digitas from Publicis & Hal Riney in San Francisco, where he was svp and group creative director. Prior to that, he worked Ogilvy & Mather on the IBM account.

“Clients are increasingly shifting brand dollar spending in the direction of our multi-channel marketing engines,” Rob Cosinuke, president of Digitas, said in a statement. “And we are passionate about creating engaging, active brand experiences for our clients’ customers.”

Digitas has not had a Boston creative leader for more than a year, following the elevation of Steve Lynch, who now heads the shop’s digital services offering. The local creative department has about 130 employees.

Tannenbaum has held several other agency positions in his two-decade career, including stints at Lowe Direct, Foote Cone & Belding, Ally Gargano and Rosenfeld Sirowitz. He has won six Effies and a Diamond Echo Award.

Digitas is a publicly traded interactive and direct company with clients such as American Express, America Online, AT&T, Delta Air Lines and General Motors.
