DHP Delivers for Pizza Hut

DALLAS Pizza Hut will launch its Cheesy Bites Pizza with a Spanish-language television commercial created by Dieste Harmel & Partners, the client said.

The Omnicom Group shop’s Hispanic spot coincides with the launch of the mainstream campaign from BBDO.

The DHP ad will run on Spanish-language networks Univision, Telemundo and Galavision, the client said.

The Dallas agency’s spot shows a family becoming bored with a board game until the Cheesy Bites Pizza arrives, livening the evening. The family turns eating the pizza into a game as they pull and pop 28 cheese-filled bites that replace the traditional crust.

As in past years, Dallas-based Pizza Hut is timing the introduction of a menu item to the Super Bowl. The day of the game is the highest volume day of the year for the chain, said Pizza Hut CMO Tom James.

Pizza Hut is featuring singer Jessica Simpson and Muppets character Miss Piggy in its spot that plays during the Super Bowl XL pre-game show.

The client spent $9 million on Hispanic advertising in 2004 and $10 million through November 2005, per TNS Media Intelligence.
