NEW YORK DeVito/Verdi said it has been hired for advertising chores by Levitz Furniture, which has about 80 locations, concentrated mainly in the Northeast and on the West Coast.

The Woodbury, N.Y.-based chain was acquired by Prentice Capital Management in late 2005 and is in the process of emerging from bankruptcy.

Levitz had previously handled its ad assignment in-house.

The chain is well known in the New York metropolitan area for its “You’ll love it at Levitz” TV and radio commercials, which became ubiquitous at times in past decades.
