Detroit Edison, Michigan’s largest electric utility, has moved its $3 million account from McCann-Erickson to a new agency here, Buckhammer & Jankowski.
Gunnar Wilmot, managing director of McCann’s Troy, Mich., office, said he received the termination letter from Detroit Edison on March 16, the same day that Ron Buckhammer, previously the account’s management supervisor, resigned from McCann.
Roger Jankowski, the other principal at the utility’s new agency, is also a previous McCann employee. He was laid off in December after the agency lost General Motors’ GMC Truck account, Wilmot said.
Detroit Edison had no comment.
