Donovan Data Systems has signed new long-term contracts with three media agencies, DDS announced Monday (Sept. 22). The agencies, Media Planning Group, RJ Palmer and RPA signed with DDS following a comprehensive review. The contracts include DDS’ full systems and services, including iDesk, the ad server-neutral application for managing digital advertising campaigns.
The renewals are good news for DDS, which has found its competitive position challenged by upstart MediaBank, which last year acquired Datatech Software Corp. Amid much controversy, Starcom signed with MediaBank, which was accused by DDS of stealing its media planning and buying software. That case is in legal arbitration. Other big contracts remain in the wings including Interepublic, which is said to be deciding between DDS and MediaBank.
“We did investigate several other offerings in the marketplace. However, in addition to the technology, DDS offers added value in the form of reliability and services, which led us to renew,” said Peter Stieglitz, chief financial officer for RJ Palmer, with annual billings of more than $600 million.
