DDB, DeVito/Verdi Among Honorees

MIAMI BEACH, FLA. DDB and DeVito/Verdi took top honors at the American Association of Advertising Agencies O’Toole Awards for Creative Excellence today.

DDB in Chicago won the award for general excellence in the large agency category, which covers agencies with $300 million in billings and up. DeVito/Verdi in New York took top prize in the midsize agency category, which includes shops with billings of $30-300 million.

No prizes were awarded in the under $30 million category.

Lapiz Integrated Hispanic Marketing in Chicago took top honors in the multicultural category. Leo Burnett in Chicago and Mullen in Wenham, Mass., tied for first place in the broadcast public service category. Sawyer Riley Compton in Atlanta won first place in the print public service category.

The awards, which honor creative excellence for a body of work, were given out at the 4A’s 86th annual Management Conference, taking place in Miami Beach. A complete list of winners can be found at www.aaaa.org. The 4A’s is the national trade association of the advertising agency business.
