Day in Chrysler CD Post at BBDO

DETROIT Former GSD&M creative director Cameron Day has joined Omnicom Group’s BBDO as Chrysler brand creative director, BBDO said.

Day will handle duties that were previously the responsibility of Bill Morden, BBDO vice chairman and chief creative officer of the Troy, Mich., agency. Day will report to Phil Gant, the agency’s executive vice president, executive creative director. His counterparts are Sam Sefton and Rick Dennis on Dodge and Robin Chrumka and Mike Stocker on Jeep. It has not been determined if or when a second Chrysler brand creative director will be hired to partner with Day, a BBDO representative said.

Day left Omnicom’s GSD&M in Austin, Texas, over a year ago after a three-and-a-half year stint, most recently as creative director on the Land Rover account. Day’s work on Land Rover resulted in numerous creative awards before the agency lost the account about a year ago, when it was consolidated at Young & Rubicam.

Prior to GSD&M, Day worked for three years on the Toyota account as a group creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi, Torrance, Calif. Day’s father is Guy Day, co-founder of the former Chiat/Day.
