Dave Moore, evp and executive creative director at McCann Worldgroup, is leaving the Interpublic Group agency, sources said.
This has been Moore’s second tour of duty at McCann, New York, where he’s been associated with accounts like Applebee’s, Ethan Allen, Smith Barney and Unilever’s Bertolli brand.
Moore has not determined his next move yet, with sources dispelling speculation that he is about to join IPG shop Avrett Free Ginsberg. Moore is a friend of AFG chief executive Frank Ginsberg, and while the two have discussed working together, nothing has progressed further, per sources.
Moore is the former chief creative officer of McCann Erickson, Detroit. In addition to working on flagship client General Motors, he was behind work like the “Pure Michigan” tourism campaign. Moore moved to McCann Detroit in 2000, where he spent seven years, after working in the agency’s New York creative department.
McCann has been making big changes in its top creative ranks in New York. In November, the agency tapped Linus Karlsson, the co-founder of Mother, New York, for the job of chairman and chief creative officer of its New York and London offices. His arrival follows the exit of long-term McCann N.Y. creative chief Joyce King Thomas last year.
