It’s no surprise that travelers depend on the Internet to research and plan vacations. According to data from Google, online query activity peaks in July, when searches for domestic travel-related terms spike. Travelers tend to start their searches with generic terms before narrowing them to brand names; in the case of hotel queries, for example, searches for hotels by name peak a full two months after generic searches do.
