D’Arcy Wins Grand Marnier in Bulk of Europe

NEW YORK — After a review, Grand Marnier has awarded the bulk of its European regional business to D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles. Billings were undisclosed.

D’Arcy, a newcomer to the roster, will handle the brand in Holland, the U.K., Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Italy and Belgium. Image Force, which also competed for the assignment in those countries, retains the business in France. Other contenders were the U.K. incumbent Leagas Delaney, McCann-Erickson, which was the incumbent in Greece, and Euro/RSCG, which had the account in Holland.

In a statement, Celine Bedell, the client’s director of strategic marketing, said, “We were seeking an agency that could deliver a strategy designed to capitalize on the brand’s heritage” in advertising to its target of people aged 28-40.

Marc Michils, managing director of Quattro D’Arcy in Brussels, the lead office on the assignment, said, also in a statement, “This is an exciting challenge to participate in the rejuvenation of such a premium brand.”
