FCB Worldwide has hired Jonathan Daly as the first svp, director of account planning at its New York office, effective April 1.
Daly, 38, formerly was global planning director on Unilever at J. Walter Thompson, London.
Jeff Tarakajian, president of FCB, New York, stated that since some FCB offices don’t have account-planning departments, it was not unusual to have lacked one in New York until now. Previously, the New York agency’s research team and proprietary tools provided account planning, occasionally aided by FCB’s Chicago and San Francisco account-planning teams, Tarakajian said, adding, “But with the convergence of so many media, especially the Internet, Jonathan will strengthen our consumer focus.”
Daly, who reports to Tarakajian and Janet Pines, executive vice president, director of strategic planning in New York, said he plans to hire at least 20 staff members.
