Think your officemates are odd? They’ve got nothing on these guys. In an Earthlink ad created by Miami’s Crispin Porter + Bogusky, a drab office is filled with unicorns, giants, leprechauns and a mermaid. Workers say it’s time to believe in “a world without spyware, viruses and online identity theft,” but also in mythical creatures, apparently. In a DDB New York ad for the New York Lottery’s “Spread the Wealth” game, another office houses colorful characters, including a man wearing underwear over his clothes and another in a suit of armor. A lottery winner pays officemates to dress and act weirdly. The quirky-office-characters idea was new a decade ago when ESPN broke its “This is SportsCenter” campaign. Time to retire it!
