Cyber Monday Sales Jump, But Not as High This Year

The preliminary stats are in, and this year's Cyber Monday sales were up more than 8 percent from last year. The increase was smaller than expected, though, due to extended online sales that started in November.

Still, online shoppers accounted for the busiest digital shopping day of the year on Dec. 1, according to the Associated Press. The initial numbers provided by IBM Digital Analytics Benchmark pointed to the importance of mobile devices in pushing online promotions.
