Creaxion Issues TNT’s Casting Call

ATLANTA Creaxion has launched an advertising campaign for Turner Network Television (TNT) as part of the network’s search for the nation’s best dramatic actor, the shop said.

The work includes two gigantic billboards, known as “spectaculars,” that were erected this week: one in Times Square in New York and the other along Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Each billboard is nearly a block long.

Television ads are playing on cable networks in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, and print ads have been placed in alternative weekly and campus newspapers and the trade press read by actors. The auditions also are being promoted on the Internet.

Creaxion, an independent Atlanta shop, is producing the advertising for the promotion, providing public relations for the event and managing the auditions in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. The shop provided the same services during TNT’s first talent search last year, in which more than 3,000 people auditioned.

Each actor performs a monologue from one of the movies that plays on TNT. A panel of judges will select a winner who will receive $50,000 cash, an apartment in Los Angeles for a year, a car for a year, acting lessons and a publicist.

TNT did not disclose the amount it is spending on the campaign and the contest.
