CP+B Hires Benjamin to Start Digital Department

ATLANTA Crispin Porter + Bogusky has beefed up its interactive capabilities with the addition of Jeff Benjamin as creative director.

Benjamin, 28, joined the Miami agency last week to head up a new department that will design Web sites and create interactive applications.

CP+B partner and executive creative director Alex Bogusky said he had been considering the idea of such a department for some time before discovering Benjamin, who comes from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners. As an art director at the San Francisco Omnicom Group shop, Benjamin crafted Web work for Saturn and Hewlett-Packard’s “Invent” and “+hp” campaigns.

Until now, CP+B, 49 percent owned by MDC Partners, primarily has been outsourcing its interactive programming and design. It works with Euro RSCG Circle in Seattle on Mini campaigns and Hello Design in Culver City, Calif.

New interactive work for Mini, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Ikea is expected in early 2004, Bogusky said.
