With Commitment from Coke, Berlin Cameron/Red Cell Starts Hiring

NEW YORK Berlin Cameron/Red Cell is in the process of hiring 15-20 people, across all disciplines and at all levels, the agency confirmed. The additions, a 25-30 percent increase in the shop’s current staff of 80, come two weeks after the Coca-Cola Co. named the agency its lead creative shop on Coke Classic.

Berlin Cameron launched Coke’s “Real” campaign on Jan. 13.

“We are hiring,” said Andy Berlin, co-CEO of the Red Cell network and chairman of Berlin Cameron in New York. “We’ve been working for almost a year on brand Coca-Cola without knowing how long it would last. Now we have a commitment and we want to make sure the agency is properly and fully staffed. We want to be prepared for the growth opportunities we hope will be coming our way.”

The agency, owned by WPP, now claims annual billings of about $500 million. Other Coke brands it handles are Dasani, Mello Yello, and Nestea. Berlin Cameron’s other clients include New York Life, Nestle, the NBA, and Pernod Ricard.
