Comcast Splits With TBWA/Chiat/Day On Creative Duties

Cable TV operator Comcast Cable Communications has placed creative duties on its ad account in review just nine months after awarding them to TBWA/Chiat/Day.
The client felt its business was not getting the attention it required at the New York shop, sources said. The split also comes after management changes at Comcast, sources said.
Philadelphia-based Comcast has invited New York shops M&C Saatchi and MK Advertising as well as Red Tettemer in Narberth, Pa., and The Star Group in Cherry Hill, N.J., to pitch. The winning shop will be asked to create image ads.
Most TV spots will run on Comcast properties; sources estimated the value of that media at $10-15 million.
TBWA/C/D declined comment.
