Colombian Coffee Review on Fast Track

NEW YORK Cafe de Colombia, the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia fronted by Juan Valdez, has undertaken a quick-paced review for an agency that will lead a $9 million brand marketing campaign, sources said.

Request for credentials forms were due back from prospective shops on April 21 and agencies were notified April 25, sources said. Credentials meetings with as many as eight shops began today, sources said. According to a time line set forth in the questionnaire, a decision is slated for May 9, with work to begin on June 2.

The client is looking for an agency with national beverage experience and a track record of marketing to 18-35 year olds, the request stated.

The client could not immediately be reached for comment. No consultant was listed as managing the review.
