It turns out the largest crowd ever at a baseball game was 93,000—at the Los Angeles Mem orial Coliseum in May 1959 for an exhibition game between the Dodgers and Yankees. Remarkably, fans were asked that day to light a match in tribute to Dodger great Roy Cam panella, who was on hand after being disabled in a car accident.
