Colbert Takes CMO Post at Pile and Co.

BOSTON Pile and Co. said it has named former agency executive Chris Colbert chief marketing officer.

In his new role, Colbert, 46, is responsible for product development, branding and outreach for all the Pile business groups.

Colbert was previously president of 180 Ventures, a brand consulting firm, and prior to that he was president and co-owner of Holland Mark in Boston, which in the late 1990s ranked among the region’s largest independent ad agencies.

“The addition of Chris to the management team is a major step for us toward meeting our significant growth objectives,” said Rick Hooker, company CEO. “His strong strategic and leadership skills will not only allow us to expand our current category leadership position, but also to spearhead new service offerings and business ventures that will provide real value to our clients and major growth opportunities for our company.”

Other key senior managers at the company are Judy Neer, president of Pile’s consulting practice, and Matt Gill, svp of the Pile staffing services division.

Pile is currently leading account reviews for American Express Financial Advisors, Marshalls and Shreve Crump & Low.
