ATLANTA–Charles Frenette, head of Coca-Cola’s European and African operations and a member of the company’s policy-making executive committee, has retired, the company announced Monday.
A.R.C. “Sandy” Allen, currently president and chief operating officer of the beverage giant’s Asia Group, will run the Europe, Eurasia and Middle East Group. Alexander B. Cummings Jr. will continue as president of the Africa Group and report to vice chairman and chief operating officer Brian G. Dyson.
Coke also announced Mary E. Minnick will take Allen’s place with the Asia Group.
“Coke has been struggling to get stronger growth,” John Sicher, editor of Beverage Digest told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “These changes are intended to improve leadership and in-market execution. That’s what drives growth out in the field.”
