The 45th annual Clio Awards took place May 15-18 at the Eden Roc Resort in Miami Beach. Wieden + Kennedy won two Grand Clios, in TV (for Honda’s “Cog,” out of the shop’s London office) and in the new Content & Contact category (for the Sega ESPN NFL Football game’s “Beta-7” campaign, via the New York office). DDB, awarded a Grand Clio in radio for its Bud Light “Real Men of Genius” spots, was named Agency of the Year and Network of the Year. The U.S. led in total statues with 104, followed by Germany with 30, the U.K. with 27, South Africa with 23 and Australia with 17. The Clios, owned by Adweek parent VNU, also honored Lee Clow, chairman and chief creative officer of TBWA Worldwide, with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
