NEW YORK Citizens Bank is shifting its media chores from Havas’ MPG to WPP Group’s MediaCom without a review, the client has confirmed.

MediaCom handles buying and planning for Citizens’ parent company, the Royal Bank of Scotland, and the move was initiated based on “economies of scale,” a client representative said. MPG will continue working on the account through March 14.

Boston-based Arnold, also owned by Havas, remains Citizens’ lead creative shop. The agency’s efforts have long cast Citizens as “Not your typical bank” in generally lighthearted ads.
