ATLANTA — Virginia Vann, chief marketing officer for Cingular Wireless, has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests, according to an internal company memo.

Vann joined the Atlanta-based telecom in mid-2000 and was part of the review committee that selected Omnicom’s BBDO in the fall of the same year to launch its first campaign. The company had billings of about $400 million
in 2001.

“The creation and development of the Cingular brand is one of the most successful launches in modern marketing history,” said Mark Feidler, Cingular COO, in the memo.
