Cincinnati Bell Selects HSR As Agency Of Record For Business

Hensley Segal Rentschler was named Cincinnati Bell’s agency of record for business markets, an expanded role with the client that will bring expanded staffing.
The Cincinnati agency has worked on several project assignments for the telecommunications company. Its new role puts it in charge of all marketing programs targeting business through advertising, interactive and direct marketing, public relations and custom publishing. Billings were not disclosed for the consolidated account.
“We grew up in this market and with this brand,” HSR managing director Richard A. Segal Jr. said of the account. “We have a great deal of respect for what it means in this market.”
Segal said the agency intends to hire an additional 10-14 employees by August to staff the Cincinnati Bell account and respond to the growth of other clients’ business with the shop.
Beyond increasing billings and staffing, Segal said the Cincinnati Bell account win is an important affirmation of capabilities in all marketing media for an agency best known as an early proponent of interactive marketing and electronic commerce solutions for businesses.
“We’ve always been a classically integrated agency, but we became ‘electrified’ early on,” Segal said. “With this account, we’ve been given an opportunity to pull together a broad array of values in one integrated package.”
HSR’s other clients include AK Steel, Hobart Corp. and Apple Computer. –Scott Hume
