Channel Surfing: Ryan Launches Catapult

BOSTON Catapult Marketing has launched as an independent subsidiary of D.L. Ryan Cos. The new entity specializes in sales channel marketing.

“We started talking to agencies six months ago” about an acquisition, said Dave Ryan, founder and CEO of Ryan. “[Instead], we decided to create another agency, one that would have a flatter structure. We felt we had the resources [in-house].”

The agency launches with 100 staffers in four offices: Westport, Conn., Los Angeles, Phoenix and Bentonville, Ark.

Catapult’s leadership team consists of COO Paul Kramer and presidents Peter Cloutier and Matthew Jonas, who respectively oversee East Coast and West Coast operations. Those three previously held management positions in the channel marketing division at Ryan Partnership.

Timex, Pedigree, Sunbeam, Subway and Dannon are already in the mix as Catapult clients.

Catapult will specialize in consumer promotions, account specific marketing, advertising, and direct and interactive services.
