Chalmers Bids Adieu

NEW YORK Mark Chalmers, executive creative director and partner at StrawberryFrog in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, said he is leaving the agency in late summer.

“I will be transitioning out,” said Chalmers, 36, whose partner, Al Kelly, will be assuming his responsibilities until a replacement is found. “It’s a fantastic agency and it is simply time to move on to different, new things,” Chalmers said.

Although he wouldn’t elaborate on his plans, Chalmers—who is also the co-founder of global digital collective Creative Social—said he is remaining in Amsterdam.

“Advertising has gone through a big change because media and technology have evolved,” he said. “Change is good. I want to follow some of those opportunities.”

Chalmers joined StrawberryFrog seven years ago and quickly co-founded BlueberryFrog, a guerilla-marketing firm merged into the main agency four years later.

Chalmers has worked with clients including Heineken, Ikea, Mitsubishi and Sony-Ericsson.

During his tenure, he helped StrawberryFrog grow from a somewhat obscure European boutique into a creatively driven shop capable of playing on the international stage. The agency also has an office in New York.

Prior to joining StrawberryFrog, Chalmers worked in the creative department at HHCL, where he contributed to the London agency’s award-winning Tango work.
