CCP Adds WNBA Team, Owens Sausage

CHICAGO Chicago Creative Partnership has welcomed two new clients: the Chicago Sky Women’s National Basketball Association team and Owens Country Sausage, according to the shop.

Both advertising accounts were acquired without reviews, the Chicago agency said.

For the Chicago Sky, the shop will help launch the new entry into the WNBA with a campaign timed for the first game, slated for May 23, 2006.

“Chicago Creative Partnership is a great group of enthusiastic, smart marketers who truly understand that the Chicago Sky is more than a group of athletically gifted women playing basketball; it’s about inspiring confidence in women to achieve their goals,” said Margaret Stender, president and CEO of the franchise, in a statement.

The Owens Country Sausage account arrived as the result of a consolidation. CCP already handles advertising for Owens Country parent Bob Evans Farms. Publicis Groupe’s Publicis in Mid-America, Dallas, previously handled the brand, which is primarily distributed in the Southwest.

Billings on the accounts were not disclosed. The Sky is a new assignment; Nielsen Monitor-Plus recorded nearly $2 million in ad spending for Owens Country through November 2005.
