NEW YORK Cenergy in East Aurora, N.Y., has been hired by the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and will work with the team’s in-house creative unit to develop TV, radio, print and Internet advertising, as well as online video, that will break in September.
Cenergy was hired based on its continuing work for the AHL’s Lake Erie Monsters, a hockey team owned by the Cavaliers.
Tracy Marek, the Cavaliers’ vp, marketing, said: “Cenergy has clearly shown its understanding of our business. They helped us launch the Monsters brand last year and will help us activate the Cavs’ brand this year.”
Cenergy principal John Cimperman added: “The exciting part is the way the Cavaliers plan on tapping into the full range of our resources in order to further leverage the passion of their existing fan base.”
Independent Cenergy also works for Aussie Vineyards, Comcast, NHL Network, Right Guard, TBS and the Toronto Blue Jays, among others.
