Cashman & Katz Take Manhattan

Cashman & Katz Integrated Communications, expanding beyond its Connecticut base, has opened a New York outpost with three people and two clients.
Buildings, a division of broadband provider Winstar Communications, New York, has tapped the shop for strategic planning, sales promotion and direct-marketing chores. Separately, the Strategic Decisions Group of Navigant Consulting in Chicago has retained the agency for advertising and Web-design services.
Both clients are being handled in the new 401 E. 34th St. office. Combined billings for the two accounts are about $2 million, said principal Tony Cashman. “New York is the capital of the advertising world,” he said. “To grow our business, we shouldn’t just focus on Connecticut.”
The shop has previously promoted “The Seven Habits of Highly E-effective E-buildings,” a seminar designed to convince Manhattan landlords to wire their properties with Winstar. “They helped boost attendance to the seminar,” said Jack Robinson, regional vice president for the client.
Navigant, a global management-consulting firm, retained the shop to redesign one of its Web sites,, and help market Navigant services and books.
