Carmichael Lynch Back In Drink With Outboard Marine Projects

Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis is working on undisclosed projects for Outboard Marine Corp., according to sources.
Executives at both the agency and the client declined comment, and details of the assignments were unavailable. But an OMC official acknowledged the company is in the process of “relaunching” itself.
The company plans to outline its advertising and marketing plans by midsummer, the official said. OMC spent $2.8 million on advertising last year, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
Carmichael Lynch already counts outdoor product makers Polaris Personal Watercraft and Blue Fox Fishing Accessories among its current clients. The agency also handled Johnson Worldwide Associates’ Minn Kota fishing motors before resigning that account last year.
OMC, a Waukegan, Ill.-based manufacturer of marine engines, boats and boating accessories, last week announced it will realign its fiberglass fishing boat brands, which include Hydra-Sports, Stratos and Javelin, and create specific identities for each.
“We need to refine each of our fishing boat brands and concentrate them on what they do best,” OMC president and chief executive officer David Jones said in a statement.
