Canadians Open Boston Production Outpost

BOSTON Production company Global Mechanic has opened an office here to be helmed by Matthew Charde.

Charde serves as executive producer at the Vancouver, British Columbia-based company’s Boston studios. Boston’s combination of sizeable advertising agencies and art schools, as well as its location in general, made a good place to open a U.S. outpost, he said.

Prior to joining Global Mechanic, Charde spent two years at Euro RSCG MVBMS Parnters in Boston as senior vice president and director of Circle Studios. While there, Charde developed and produced commercials, programming and branded content for clients including Campbell’s, the Cartoon Network, Ikea, Mini and Verizon. Before Circle, Charde was executive producer and general manager of Olive Jar Studios.

Global Mechanic is a bicoastal animation and live-action production facility that produces TV spots, independent films and music videos. Commercial clients include Bell Mobility, Kraft and Mattel.
