Cadmus Stands United Under Single Banner

As part of an ongoing effort to fully integrate the far-flung Cadmus Communications empire, company officials said last week that the Richmond, Va.-based Cadmus Marketing Group will now work under the name
The move replaces Cadmus/O’Keefe and incorporates Cadmus Custom Publishing in Boston, Cadmus Direct in Charlotte, N.C., Cadmus Catalogs in Atlanta and Cadmus Identity Marketing in Richmond.
Separately, Matt Thornhill, president of Cadmus/O’Keefe, has left the firm to join Article M Studios, Richmond, a developer and syndicator of interactive content for Web sites. With Cadmus/O’Keefe being pulled into, Thornhill will not be replaced and his duties will be assumed by Kelly O’Keefe, who has also been president of Cadmus Marketing Group.
“[The changes] began several months ago when I took over the marketing group at Cadmus,” O’Keefe said. “I was given control of all these companies and a directive by [senior management] to integrate them. That started the ball rolling toward a singular entity.”
The decision was made to create one name for the different divisions to lessen outsider confusion. “It was probably difficult for the general public to distinguish between the Cadmus Marketing Group and Cadmus/O’Keefe,” O’Keefe said. “Bringing all our services together under the name makes our message easier to deliver.”
Cadmus Identity Marketing managing partner Dave Martin will also assume the role of chairman of strategic planning at “Dave will provide three key things,” O’Keefe said. “Consult with our clients on their core identity strategies, consult with me on continuing to build a marketing presence for what we’re doing and be a mentor for the leaders of all of our [divisions]. It’s nice to have that sage guy [as a] mountaintop kind of person to help us out.”
Carolyn Dixon and Ed Paxton were also promoted to senior vice presidents of operations and creative, respectively.
