C-K Among Finalists for Wireless Account

ATLANTA Cramer-Krasselt is one of four finalist agencies vying for Cellular South’s $8-10 million account, according to the client.

The Chicago shop will compete against fellow independent agency archer>malmo in Memphis, Tenn., which handles project work for the client; Havas’ Arnold in McLean, Va.; and MDC Partners’ Crispin, Porter + Bogusky in Miami, said Jana Long, advertising manager fat Cellular South.

Sources said agencies would present branding projects in early February. A decision is expected in mid-February.

Incumbent Fletcher Martin Ewing, an MDC Partners shop in Atlanta, has declined to defend the account, which it has held for five years.

Officials at Select Resources International in Santa Monica, Calif., which is overseeing the review, declined to comment.

Cellular South does business in Mississippi, coastal Alabama and Florida, and Memphis, Tenn. It has licenses to provide service in Arkansas, but has not moved into that market.
