Leo Burnett’s worldwide chief operating officer, Stephen Gatfield, last week said he is leaving the agency, citing personal and family issues. He will serve as a consultant to the Publicis shop through year’s end, said a rep at the Chicago agency. Gatfield, 45, was managing director of Burnett’s Asia-Pacific region before becoming COO in January 2001. His position will be eliminated; his duties will be assumed by members of Burnett’s global management team.
