Burnett Scores at Effies

NEW YORK Leo Burnett has won nine Effies, the most awards of any agency, the New York American Marketing Association said.

The Chicago-based shop won the awards, which honor effectiveness and creativity, for its campaigns on behalf of Kraft Food’s Altoids, Disney Cruise Line, Kellogg’s All Bran and Nutrigrain, Imation Corp., Maytag, National Cattlemen’s Beef, Nintendo and Polaroid.

TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York won eight Effies for advertising for Apple Computer, Sony Playstation and XM Satellite Radio, among other clients.

Foot, Cone & Belding in New York won seven Effies for work it created for clients including Boca Foods and Circuit City.

Absolut, Bud Lite and Jack in the Box garnered “Sustained Success” honors from the marketing association.

An awards presentation will be held June 4 in New York, where winners will learn if they won gold, silver or bronze Effies or the Grand Effie.
