The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the week down after stocks tumbled Friday amid news that more jobs were lost last month than anticipated. Plus, investors’ concerns about the recent surge in bond yields could sting the financial sector as a whole. Meanwhile, ad holding company stocks changed little by week’s end. On the Big Board, Omnicom was the only ad stock to see a gain, rising 1.3 percent to $73.61 on its report that second-quarter net income increased 2 percent from $187.3 million to $190.7 million; IPG fell 0.3 percent to close the week at $13.75; and British holding company WPP, trading as American Depository Receipts on the Nasdaq, slipped 0.8 percent to $43.48.
