Brinegar to Leave Burnett

CHICAGO–Leo Burnett USA CEO Brad Brinegar is leaving the agency after just over a year in the position, sources said.

Brinegar was named to the ceo post last November, the same time Bob Brennan was recruited from Starcom MediaVest Group to become president of Leo Burnett Worldwide, where he was given special responsibility over North America [Adweek, Oct. 2, 2000]. Sources said those duties may have overlapped.

It is not believed that Brinegar’s position will be immediately filled. Calls to agency representatives were not returned.

The departure follows the earlier appointment of Mark Tutssel to deputy chief creative officer for Burnett’s U.S. office. Tutssel was named to the post, which reports to U.S. chief creative officer Cheryl Berman on Monday.
