Chicago Agency Chosen to Handle Account Of Worldwide Hotel Marketing Organization
CHICAGO–After conducting its second review in less than a year, Preferred Hotels & Resorts has selected Brigandi & Associates here for its $1.5 million account.
Brigandi beat out one other finalist, Ebel Dunnel Merrick, also in Chicago, following a review that initially included some 20 shops.
George Brigandi, president of the marketing communications shop, said he and several of his staff members have experience in marketing hostelries for such clients as Hyatt Hotels and Resorts and Hyatt International while working at Brigandi or at other agencies.
Preferred Hotels & Resorts handles marketing for more than 100 independently owned, high-end hotels and resorts worldwide.
Brigandi said a marketing plan has yet to be completed but can be expected to include print and direct advertising aimed at travel agents and consumers.
Preferred chose David Cravit & Associates in a review last summer, only to see that shop close its doors within weeks of the selection.
The client has since handled marketing largely in-house. During the latest review, Preferred hired Robert Dirkes as its new director of public relations and advertising. Dirkes was previously with Business Travel International, Americas, a partner of BTI North America.
Preferred lends its logo to hostelries–including the Whitehall Hotel in Chicago and the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee–that pass inspections covering more than 1,000 points, according to company literature.
