BOSTON Bridgewater Design and Group Four have joined forces.

Chicago-based design and marketing agency Bridgewater has merged with Group Four, which specializes in packaging and product design. Donna Skupien, who started Bridgewater 12 years ago, moves to Group Four’s Chicago office as a creative director, bringing along four staffers. She reports to Frank von Holzhausen, president of Group Four at its Avon, Conn., headquarters.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The decision to merge came from Skupien’s desire to become part of a larger company and Group Four’s plan to expand its Chicago presence, Skupien said.
