Bresner/Schmidt Secures Sponsorship Task

NEW YORK Bresner/Schmidt, a strategic brand consultancy headed by Bob Schmidt and Trudi Bresner, has landed an assignment to line up sponsors for Broadway Worldwide, which aims to bring Broadway shows to the heartland via digital high-definition recordings.

The Direct From Broadway offering will eventually reach 350 markets, via movie theaters, DVDs and cable TV. The first three recordings are “Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical,” “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” and “Putting It Together.”

The New York consultancy has already approached a handful of blue-chip corporations about sponsorships, said Schmidt, the former CEO of New York shop Levine, Huntley, Schmidt and Beaver who re-emerged as a consultant late last year. His partner, a presentation specialist, has operated her own consultancy, T. Bresner Associates, since 1979.

“Bresner/Schmidt’s client relationships with leading American companies, its understanding of the landscape and its excellent reputation for creative thinking were factors in the firm’s selection,” said Broadway Worldwide chairman Kay Koplowvitz.

In addition to forging brand strategies, Bresner/Schmidt produces corporate films, sales materials and other collateral. Its clients include Time Warner, Cendant and Diageo.
