Bozell Picks Biz-Development Head

New YORK—Bozell New York has hired Amanda Vineyard-Kavanagh as partner, director of business development, a new position.

Kavanagh, 29, started in the post on March 22. She reports to Brian Martin, managing partner, executive director of account services and business development.

Her responsibilities at the shop in clude pursuing new business. Kavanagh does not currently have a staff, but said the shop plans to expand its business-development department within the next three months.

Before joining Bozell, she served as the director of strategic alliances at ePod, an Internet-advertising company in New York. EPod closed its doors this past February.

Prior to that, Kavanagh worked at Qtopics, a branding consultancy in Union, N.J., where she met Martin. “I wanted to work with him again and create new business for Bozell,” she said.

“She’s a smart, savvy business-development person unlike any I’ve seen in all my years of advertising,” said Martin.

From 1993-96, Kavanagh was a senior media planner for TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York, where she worked on America Online and Won derbra, among others. She recalls being impressed by the work of Tony Granger, who was at that time co-creative director at TBWA\C\D’s South Africa office. Granger currently is creative director at Bozell New York.
