BOSTON–Boston Beer Co., known for frequently switching shops, has approached several agencies about the $15-20 million account of its flagship Samuel Adams brand, according to sources.

McCarthy Mambro Bertino, Boston, formed this spring after spinning off from Texas shop Square One, currently handles Sam Adams. Agency executives did not return calls.

Robert Hall, vp/brand development at Boston Beer, could not be reached on Wednesday.

Sources said Hall has approached shops for ideas about the account; the process is in the early stages and has yet to develop into a full-blown review.
