NEW YORK — Joseph Tripodi has been named chief marketing officer for Bank of New York, a new position. He will oversee all marketing and branding initiatives globally, and reports to Gerald Hassell, president of the New York-based company. Tripodi was previously chief marketing officer of Seagram Spirits and Wine Group. Before that, he was evp, global marketing, products and services at MasterCard International.

DDB in New York handles advertising for Bank of New York. Their most recent advertising campaign was a print business-to-business campaign that ran in Europe and the U.S.
