Bitner Goodman to Represent Wannado City

ATLANTA Bitner Goodman has won the public relations account of Wannado Entertainment following a review, the agency said.

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., agency bested a pair of undisclosed contenders.

The shop will provide media relations, community outreach and promotional support for the launch of the client’s subsidiary, Wannado City. The value of the PR account was not disclosed.

The children’s attraction, modeled on Mexico City’s La Cuidad de los Ninos (City of Children), is set to open in spring 2004 at South Florida’s Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise. Future locations include Mills Corporation’s Meadowlands Zanadu complex in East Rutherford, N.J. Wannado parent CIE is in discussions with Arlington Mills’ Potomac Mills outside Washington, D.C., and an undisclosed California location about developing similar projects.

Aimed at children under 11 years old, Wannado City is the re-creation of a metropolis that visitors experience from the point of view of a child. The interactive center includes about 60 “real-play” venues designed for children to role play career choices such as firefighter, airline pilot, nurse and television producer.

A search for an advertising agency is under way, sources said.

Wannado Entertainment, located in Fort Lauderdale, is a subsidiary of CIE (Corporacion Interamericana de Entretenimiento) and Grupo Magico Internacional in Mexico City.
