Biggs/Gilmore Restructures

Biggs/Gilmore Communications in Kalamazoo, Mich., is instituting a restructuring of its senior management team as it expands the agency on several fronts.
The agency has formalized its new media work with the creation of an interactive communications department. Bruce Davis, a senior art director, will oversee the new unit as director of interactive communications. The shop has already created Internet sites for Whirlpool, Sea Ray Boats, Baja Marine, Pharmacia & Upjohn Animal Health and others.
Phil Long, president of the $56 million agency, also announced a series of executive promotions. “With our staff growing from 55 to 85 over the past three years, and with our business continuing to grow, it was time to give certain individuals greater authority over their business categories,” he said.
Bill Truesdale was elevated to executive vice president. He will continue to oversee the creative department as the search for an executive creative director continues.
Michael Gerfen and Gerard Miron were promoted to senior vice presidents, overseeing the agency’s healthcare and agriculture groups, respectively.
James Webb has been named senior vice president in charge of consumer products and business-to-business groups.
The agency has also developed a proprietary sales support program called LINK for managing local co-op extensions of national ad campaigns. Randy Bernhard was named executive director of LINK.
To serve longtime agribusiness client Asgrow Seed Co., the agency has opened a field office in Des Moines, Iowa.
