Bennett Named to Mullen Post

In the wake of the January merger of Mullen and Long Haymes Carr, Brad Bennett has been named senior vice president and marketing director of Mullen.

Bennett will oversee all new business development and marketing for the Wenham, Mass., agency and its Winston-Salem, N.C., and Detroit subsidiaries.

“What we did was consolidate new business development and marketing into one group,” said Joe Grimaldi, CEO of Mullen. “Before the merger we had separate groups doing separate activities. Now we can be assured that all three offices are saying and practicing the same thing.”

Bennett, who will remain in Winston-Salem, joined LHC in 1995 as an account executive. He became a vice president in 1997, overseeing brands such as Hanes and Champion. As new business director, he added T.J. Maxx, Dunlop Slazenger and Journeys.

“I was saddled with the challenge of turning around a new business group that had become stagnant,” said Bennett, referring to LHC’srecent Winston and BellSouth Carolina account losses.

“My approach is to share information, ask for assistance across the board, and make people [on the team] understand where we’re headed,” said Bennett. “With that comes a gathering of momentum and that creates opportunity.”
